CO2 is a common impurity in natural gas that must be removed to improve the heat value of gas or to meet pipeline specification. Amine systems are used frequently but they are complex with high capital cost in installation and operation, and subject to potential environmental issues. Membrane technology can offer a simple and low-cost solution for CO2 removal from natural gas.
Most available for:
• CO2 bulk removal
• Sweet gas with higher pressure (30-70 barg) and higher CO2 content (more than 20%)
• Offshore project especially
Performance:
• HCs recovery up to 85-98%
• CO2 content reduction as required (typical less than 2%)
Benefits:
• Low capital investment
• Improves offshore production economics
• Easy to install and operate with skid-mounted construction and no moving parts.
• Ideal for remote location with limited utilities
Operating characteristic:
• Max. operating temperature: 90°C
• Max. operating pressure difference: 100 barg (1470 psig)
• Liquid content: pressure dew point margin +20°C
Scope of supply:
• Pretreatment
• A single-stage membrane unit
• Recycle compressor (upon request)
• A two-stage membrane unit (upon request)
